If you are like me then too much Dr. Who is an impossibility. For all my fellow Whovians out there the excitement is building for the new release. Doctor Who Black Guardian Trilogy DVD will be hitting the shelves scheduled August 10th. Dedicated fans, who were smart enough to pre-order, are waiting for it to show up.

This three DVD boxed set includes Mawdryn Undead, Terminus, and Enlightenment.  In Mawdryn Undead, Turlough is recruited to assassinate the Doctor by the Black Guardian.  Although he seems little more than the average student, Turlough is actually an alien who believes that this mission is the way for him to get to return home.  While at the same time TARDIS has its instruments malfunction as they are jammed by some type of signal which the Doctor soon discovers is a beam to guide the ships transmat capsule coming from the Earth.  After many trials and tribulations, Tegan and Nyssa encounter a badly burned man and are left wondering if it could be the Doctor.

The story goes on in Terminus. The Black Guardians still have Turlough under their thumb. He messes with the controls of TARDIS which makes it then become connected to a space liner. The large complex interior soon gets Tegan and Turlough all turned around and confused as where to go. Space pirates, named Kari and Olvir show up and run into Nyssa and the Doc.

Enlightenment is the title as well as the end all prize for the competition inside the tale. Some wicked fellow, known as Eternals, will consume the minds of those they keep. This is without the people realizing that they are being feasted upon. The Eternals are racing against The Doc and his pals toward that prize of Enlightenment. With the Eternals reading the minds of whoever they want the whole time.

Finally some of the best of Doctor Who is now coming out on DVD and it will be so incredible to be able to watch these incredible classics in higher quality and sound than ever before.  A must have for Who Fans, this DVD Trilogy will include lots of extras and bonuses, including commentary with the cast and crew, deleted and extended scenes, outtakes, Easter eggs, and the Who Wants to Live Forever? " cast and crew look back at the making of the story.
