If your motherboard is not working and its light is off, commonly it is owing to some problems in the motherboard hardware, for example, the breakage in the BIOS, in the CPU or in the memory socket, and the motherboard power supply port is loose or rosin joint. We can focus on the following aspects when troubleshooting:

One, check whether the main board BIOS chip is broken or attacked by virus. If the motherboard has no response on power on: no alert and motherboard can not turn on, maybe the BIOS is attacked by some virus, you can judge it from using a debug card if it is on hand: when the Boot of the BIOS is not mangled, insert the card you will see the monitor can not work on start but the PC will alarm like "toot, toot, toot...", but if the Boot is mangled, insert the card you will find that the power light and the hard disk light will be on, and the CPU fan will spin but the motherboard can not work when powering on. In case BIOS chip is broken, you need to rewrite the BIOS through a programmer.

Two, some motherboards have an auto-detection and protection feature, which will self-lock your motherboard when its power supply voltage goes wrong or the CPU voltage is too high in overclocking. In this case you can boot your motherboard after CMOS discharge, but in some case, you need to power on your motherboard and at the same time press RESET.

The cause of this motherboard not working and light off also has another possibility: the CR2032 battery in the CMOS has a screw loose. Take off the battery, everything turns back normal.

Three, use a multimeter to check whether the CPU is broken leading to not supplying power. Additionally, if the CPU jack is hard up for pins or becomes loose, motherboard light would also be off.

Four, if you insert the memory bank improperly, the memory slot would easily get burned, and the slot's reed is prone to be deformed leading to the socket out of use. The bank is also easily burned when you draw or plug it without pulling out your PC attaching plug.

Five, the capacitance voltage is too high and working in a high temperature for a long time that affects the power supply to the CPU, to the memory and to other related board cards.

Six, when you install some part onto your motherboard, you haven't install it properly and results in the slot cracking.

Seven, the power supply jack is loose. To locate this problem, you need to slightly shake the power line of each port after booting up your computer.

Finally, the motherboard safety resistor is fused results that relevant peripherals like keyboard, mouse or movable devices can not be used. Take the multimeter to check this problem and replace a0.50HM resistance.
